Target Gift Cards

At Target, designers are given the chance to pitch ideas for gift card designs. We'd sketch concepts, share the ideas and the selected designs would move into development. The gift card design below was categorized as a "Wow" card—a name given to gift cards that were more than just a card holding value. For this card we were tasked with figuring out a unique way to incorporate a "follow the sequence" game technology into a holiday gift card. This was the final design I came up with and art directed while an illustrator brought it to life. My preliminary brainstorming sketches follow.

For gift cards involving Bullseye, the Target dog, designers had a library of dog images to inspire us as we came up with ideas for new products. I designed the two following holiday gift cards. These gift cards were mass produced and in stores nation-wide for the holidays and Bullseye in the Sleigh was one of the top selling cards.
